Upgrades, or training, are permanent enhancements that apply to every run. After completing a run for the first time, they can be accessed from the "upgrades" button of the main menu. Purchasing upgrades require "training points" which can be earned from collecting money drops and also completing achievements. Upgrades can also be removed at any time for a full training point refund, allowing one to try different upgrade combinations freely. Each upgrade purchased also increased the "Account Level" by 1, and additional upgrades become available at levels 10, 20, and 30.

Each upgrade has 5 ranks, with the exception of the level 20 upgrades which only have 3 ranks, which enhance its effects. Upgrade effects scale linearly with rank.

  1. The player has 2 lockdown charges by default, and this upgrade increases it to the listed value.
  2. This increases luck, which increases the odds of zombies dropping powerups on death.
  3. The player has 4 reroll charges by default, and this upgrade increases it to the listed value.
  4. The player has 2 banish charges by default, and this upgrade increases it to the listed value.

  2. Critical chance starts at 5%, and this upgrade increases it to the listed value.
  3. Critical damage starts at 200%, and this upgrade increases it to the listed value.
  4. The listed value is the time the player is invulnerable after taking damage, measured in seconds.
