Game modes (Defense)
There are 4 game mode options in Yet Another Zombie Defense. Initially, only defense is available, but the other 3 can be unlocked by surviving to certain nights in defense mode.
Defense
This is the standard game mode. Play is done in a series of alternating night and day cycles, where zombies attack by night and the player can by and place weapons and defenses during the day.
Endless
- Unlocked by reaching night ? in defense mode
In this mode there is no day, and therefore no buy phase or defenses. Zombies will sometimes drop weapons which can be picked up. The player can only hold one weapon at a time in this mode, and picking up a new weapon will delete the previous one.
Deathmatch
- Unlocked by reaching night ? in defense mode
This is a competitive mode where players try to kill each other, while still avoiding zombies. Like Endless mode, this mode has no day and zombies drop weapons (although much less frequently). In this mode, the default weapon is an SMG with infinite ammo instead of a pistol, and player health regenerates over time.
Sandbox
- Unlocked by reaching night 14 in defense mode
The player is given infinite resources to build a base, and then it is attacked by a neverending swarm of zombies.
